I’ll be honest, it’s been years since I’ve done a website, kept up with a blog, and the like. I put down a lot of words every day, every month (with even more in an average November), but I don’t often sit down and do blog-related things. So all of this – setting up the page, buying the domain, installing things – has been a bit daunting.
To be honest, it’s scared away a few of my characters, but I’m not particularly worried, as I know they’ll come back when they have something to say.
So, to make this post worthwhile, I’ll get down to the nitty-gritty. This is what you’ll find once I get this up and running properly:
- Writing.
- Fiction, of which I have an abundance, but some non-fiction as the time comes along.
- Writing Research (if it’s interesting).
- As the song goes, it’s “Hard to be the Bard”, and a lot of what I look up is helpful to me but not the most fascinating. For a few of my stories, however, there are some really interesting tidbits that I’m eager to share and hear thoughts on.
- Soundtrack/Music Reviews.
- Video game soundtracks, and other music that strikes me as worthwhile and moving.
- Very basic financial planning information.
- This is mostly just a sort of PSA series, as I have friends I went to college with that don’t know how to work a check ledger, and other friends who flounder when it comes to budgeting.
For the first three of these, the proof of my qualifications will be in the pudding, as they say. For the fourth, I’ll be honest. Writing, as lovely as it is, is currently my Batman job. My Bruce Wayne existence is in an office you’ll never walk in to, managing figures and people you will never see or know. I’m an OL Dragon Lady of the first order, and I have a tendency to over-plan things.
More on all of this once I get the place properly set up. It’s sort of like moving house, there are all these parts to get put in order.
